If you are planning to take on an adventurous bike marathon, it is a must to pack the right necessities. Doing so will make your entire tour a lot more comfortable, safer and enjoyable. So, before you go to the Maratona Dles Dolomites event, here are a few things that you need to bring, especially if it is your first time.

Pack extra pieces of clothing

You must bring clothes made with a lightweight material when you go to a marathon. Also, ensure that they are versatile and appropriate for the weather condition on the road. Bring items that will keep your riding experience safe and comfortable. These items include cycling shoes, rain gear, cycling gloves and a helmet. A

Some people think that bringing as many clothes as you can is a necessity when going on a bike tour. Yet, doing so will only make it harder for you to move from point to point. So, limit the clothes that you are bringing to the basics so that you will not have heavy baggage during the entire tour.

Put the right set of items on your carry-on bag

Pack the clothes that you will be wearing on your first day inside your carry-on bag. Doing so will make it much easier for you to get your things without rummaging through your bag. It is also recommended that you pack lightly, so you would have enough baggage space for emergency items. You also need to leave extra space for items that you might want to bring back from the trip.

One tip is to check the season during the tour. Prepare clothes that will fit the weather condition, so you will be comfortable. If you are traveling during the winter season, for example, bring clothes that can retain your body heat to keep you warm. You should also bring gloves to give your hands a little comfort while cycling. Also, your shoes should come with special pedals and cleats for extra support. It is also advisable to learn how to ride with your shoes before you use them on your bike tour.

Bring a pannier

A pannier is a bag-like container that you can attach to the sides of the bike. It is a great extra storage solution while going on a bike tour. Try to keep it between 15 and 45 pounds. Your bike will be much stable if you put 60% of the weight in the front and 40% in the rear.

You can try experimenting with weight distribution before your tour so that you can find the best handling results. Store items like spare parts and other tools in the front while putting other less bulky items at the back.

These are a few things that you need to bring before you go on a bike tour. Ensure to bring sunscreen and a few medicines that you might need during the trip. It is always best to stay safe for you to be able to fully enjoy the entire experience.
